Total Time 10 minutes mins
- 4.5 oz bread of choice whole wheat sourdough suggested, stale or day-old works best
- 1.5 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano or Italian herbs
- 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Preheat air fryer to 200°C/400°F.
Cut the bread into bite-sized cubes and add to a large bowl.
Drizzle over the olive oil, add garlic powder, oregano, salt, and pepper. Toss the bowl or use your hands to ensure all pieces are evenly coated.
Add the seasoned bread cubes to the air fryer basket in one even layer and air fry for 2 minutes.
Open the air fryer and give a light shake to move the pieces around.
Cook for a further 1-3 minutes depending on desired golden-brown level, keeping an eye on them to prevent burning.
Remove from the air fryer and sprinkle with salt while hot. Allow to cool slightly to reach maximum crunch before serving.
